My work in photojournalism began at the University of Texas-Austin, where I received a Bachelor's of Journalism in 2001. During college I worked for the campus newspaper, The Daily Texan, as both staff photographer and photo editor. I completed internships at the Cedar Rapids Gazette and the Austin American-Statesman, and worked as a staff photographer for the Associated Press in Austin, Texas in 2003, covering the legislative session. I have worked on a freelance basis for a variety of publications, including the New York Times, Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star Telegram, Nashville Tennessean, USA Today, as well as commercial and private clients.

In addition to my work as a still shooter, I am also a skilled multimedia journalist, able to record and edit audio and video and produce online content. Currently I live in Austin, Texas where I work as a staff photographer for the Austin American-Statesman. I’m available for freelance assignments in Austin and surrounding areas.
